Crypto, Tech and Innovation: Who Are Among Time’s 100 Most Influential People?


Last Wednesday the list of the 100 most influential people of Time was published. The list divides these 100 people into the categories of Icons, Pioneers, Titans, Artists, Leaders, and Innovators.

Time’s 100 Most Influential People List

The  list of 100 most influential people of 2021 by Time  includes the last two presidents of the United States,  Joe Biden  and  Donald Trump . It also includes several CEOs of publicly traded companies and the co-founder of one of the best-known cryptocurrencies in the world.



Tim cook

The CEO of  Apple Inc (NASDAQ: AAPL) is listed by Time as Titan. Phil Knight , co-founder of  Nike Inc (NYSE: NKE), was commissioned to write Cook’s description.

“When we first spoke with Tim Cook about joining the Nike board of directors, we were hoping to bring a good decision maker to the team,” Knight said. “It also offered us the most valuable attribute that any leader in any field can have: wisdom.”

Knight says that what sets Cook apart from other leaders are the intangible qualities of character, compassion and courage.

Knight praises the way Cook took over Apple after Steve Jobs passed away and announced his plan for Apple.

“I am not the second Steve Jobs. I’m the first Tim Cook, ”Cook said at the time.

Jensen huang

The CEO of  NVIDIA Corp (NASDAQ: NVDA) appears on Time’s 100 Most Influential People list as an Innovator.

Coursera Inc (NYSE: COUR)  CEO  Andrew Ng describes the transformation of artificial intelligence in the world and the  hardware  that makes it possible, led by Huang.


“In 2003, amid much skepticism, Huang directed his company Nvidia to adapt chip designs to draw graphics on computer screens,” Ng said. “In the process, it has made possible a revolution that allows phones to answer questions aloud, for farms to spray weeds but not crops, for doctors to predict the properties of new drugs.”

Elon musk

Well- known  Tesla Inc (NASDAQ: TSLA) CEO Elon Musk enters Time’s 2021 list as Innovator.

“It’s hard to think of a person less capable of being summed up in 150 words than Elon Musk,” wrote Arianna Huffington.

Huffington praised Musk’s efforts to remove limits and restrictions and create world-changing companies like Tesla,  Paypal  Inc (NASDAQ: PYPL),  SpaceX  and The Boring Company.

“Musk is not only changing the way we get around, but he is also increasing human possibilities.”

Mary Barra

In the Innovators category is General Motors Company (NYSE: GM) CEO  Mary Barra.

“Less than 10% of Fortune 500 companies are run by women, but Mary Barra stands out,” wrote former  International Business Machines Corp (NYSE: IBM)  CEO Ginni Rometty .

Rometty praised Barra’s career at General Motors from when she was a line inspector until she was named CEO in 2014.

Barra is growing GM and spearheading a 100% zero emission vehicle project by 2035 as a “must do”.

Vitalik Buterin

Ethereum  (ETH) co-founder  Vitalik Buterin is listed as an Innovator on Time’s 100 Most Influential People list.

“Thanks to the community r / ethereum Reddit, I have had the privilege of following the career of Vitalik Buterin from the beginning , ” said co – founder of  Reddit ,  Alexis Ohanian .

Ohanian praises Buterin for coming up with the idea to launch Ethereum and for helping drive the growth of NFTs, an area the entrepreneur has invested in.

“No one could have come up with all the uses that Ethereum has, but it was enough with the idea of ​​a single person to get it started.”
